CABB BIO: Cedar Avenue Blues Band fuses old school with new vision for the blues. In May of 2010, lead guitar player John Weeks teamed up with singer/songwriter Melanie Owen Padilla to talk about starting a project... John's extensive background in the blues steered the course while Melanie took on the challenge of writing for the blues. John & Mel were soon joined by the drummer Ryan Kurtz, and bass player Jay Ryan. Together they are Cedar Avenue Blues Band, a taxi cabb careening through the streets of Blues history out onto the interstate of modern Blues music, fueled by sublime covers and smokin' originals, hot licks and scorching vocals.
